Cold Hand Winery’s Prunus Nigra Cherry Wine is now available in the UK!

Prunus Nigra is a fortified Cherry Wine made from Danish Stevnsbær cherries made following the port wine model and is a fortified wine enriched with the winery’s own burnt Eau de Vie. The cherry wine is aged for 24 months in used French oak barrels.

The wine is fresh and vibrant with a juicy cherry flavour, finished with a rich aftertaste and fine tannins. The aroma is strong with spicy cherry sauce, cinnamon, and cloves.

Modern fortified wines and liquors

Selected from Cold Hand’s range of Modern fortified wines and liquors which are made from the best Danish fruits and berries. Taking inspiration from port and Madeira, they aim to produce rich, fruity, and sweet fortified wines from Danish apples, cherries, black currants, and blackberries. The fruit is spontaneously fermented and fortified in their own distilled Eau de Vie. These fortified wines combine the complexity of fermented wine with notes of oak, pure fruit sweetness, and a well-balanced acid profile.

Serve chilled out of the fridge or room temperature as an after dinner digestif.

Suggested food pairings: Enjoy it with berry desserts, chocolate, and cheese. Really good with risalamande!
